TWO more young footballers have made the step from Saints Southwest into a professional academy following successful conclusions to their trials.
Jacob and Ben were both recently taken on board by Plymouth Argyle's academy, where they will join-up with the under-12s and under-13s age groups respectively.
Jordan Williams, who has coached Jacob at Saints Southwest for the past two seasons, was over the moon to hear the news of his Argyle success.
"I am delighted that Jacob has signed for Plymouth Argyle," Jordan said. "I first met Jacob when he was five and even at that age he was super talented.
"He started training with my squad two seasons ago, and although he was two years younger than the rest of the lads in the group, he quickly became a striver. I wish him all the best for the future."
Ben also has a very proud Saints Southwest coach in the form of Brendon Willey, who was also full of praise for his former player.
"Ben's move into the Plymouth Argyle academy is fantastic news," Brendon said. "He's been a brilliant player and an excellent character within our team.
"I'm sure he will continue to go from strength to strength at Home Park and I wish him well for this next exciting phase of his footballing journey."
Argyle's director of academy recruitment Adam Hayman, who is also a director at Saints Southwest, added: "It's really good to see two more talented players progress from Saints Southwest into the Argyle academy set-up.
"This is the latest example of the two organisations' close working relationship benefitting players and giving them access to an extended football development pathway."
