CCG & Saints Southwest Charity Football Tournament Triumphs, Raises Over £9,000 for Exeter Leukaemia

The CCG & Saints Southwest Charity Football Tournament held on a sunny day in the heart of the South West, brought together football enthusiasts, young and old, in a remarkable display of unity and competition. The event, which drew over 160 players from across the region, proved to be an astounding success, both on the field and off it, raising an impressive £9,691.67 for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).

Gary Moore, Development Manager at ELF, was ecstatic about the outcome. He said, "I cannot stress how vast this amount is for a small local charity, so everyone should be incredibly proud of their achievements. Thank you all for your hard work!"

The tournament, held at the Devon FA's Coach Road facility, showcased the power of community and sport in coming together for a great cause. Teams from local businesses and football clubs gave their all, displaying not just their love for the game but also their commitment to helping those in need.

Rob Clements, Director of CCG Decorators, one of the event's key sponsors, expressed his gratitude for the success of the tournament. He stated, "The support from our community was beyond our expectations. It's inspiring to see how our passion for football can make such a significant impact on charitable causes."

Following the tremendous response and the significant amount raised for ELF, we are thrilled to announce that the CCG & Saints Southwest Charity Football Tournament will be returning on Saturday, July 27, 2024, once again at the Devon FA's Coach Road. This year, the event aims to support not one but two worthy causes - the Exeter Leukaemia Fund and Mayfield School, a special needs school for children with learning difficulties.

The tournament will be open to 16 teams, with squads of 10 players each. Given the overwhelming enthusiasm of past participants, we encourage teams to register as soon as possible to secure their spot in this incredible event. Be part of a day filled with thrilling competition, camaraderie, a
