Devon Grassroots U9 Summer Tournament 2021-22

General

• There will be 8 teams attending in each age group, all 8 teams will play each other in a league format
• The top 4 teams in the league will go into the Champions League style Semi Finals
• The bottom 4 teams in the league will go into the Europa League Semi Finals
• Winning teams will receive a team trophy and trophy each
• Runners up will receive a medal each
• All players a receive a participation gift

Rough Overview of the day

• (8.30am - 9.00am) Teams arrive for registration and team photos
• (9.15am - 9.30am) Managers meeting/briefing
• (9.30am - 9.40am) Expectations/standards for the day
• (9.40am - 9.55am) Teams warm up
• (10.00am - 1.00pm) 2X Group stage
• (2.00pm - 3.00pm) Semi finals and finals
• (3.00pm - 3.15pm) Presentation - Trophies, Medals and Merchandise

Rules

• The game duration will be a single 12 minute period.
• 3 points for a win .
• 1 point for a draw.
• U7 - 6-Aside (MAX SQUAD SIZE 9 PLAYERS)
• U8 - 7-Aside (MAX SQUAD SIZE 10 PLAYERS)
• U9 - 7-Aside (MAX SQUAD SIZE 10 PLAYERS)
• Normal mini soccer rules apply; normal goal kicks, normal throw ins and normal corner kicks.
• Goalkeepers are NOT allowed to pick up the ball from a pass back.
• Shin pads MUST be worn
• In the event of a goal kick, the opposition side must retreat to half way.
• In the event of a penalty, all players other than the penalty taker and goalkeeper must be outside of the box.
• In the event of a free kick the referee will measure 10 steps from the free kick spot for the nearest player to stand.
